flyback / tailslide

hello everybody
don´t know if this matter was discussed here before, but didn´t find any about it...
in my last couple of flights i practiced to do turns while tailsliding. it worked pretty well when i shifted my weight and kept the brakes symetrically. but after about 180° degrees of a slow turn the glider started to accelerate in a steeper turn. i got scared and stopped at this point, but i had the idea that it might be possible to get in a kind of backwards spiral. (i already started to feel some g-forces). if possible this might be intersting lead in for other manuevers. if you could really accelerate in this flyback spiral and let the glider shoot in the right moment, a sat or something like this might be the result. does anyone have experience on this or thought about it?

Quicksilver, thank you for your answer. Today I have now problem with normal stall exit and I know brakes position corresponding to small collapse of wingtips (few centimeter before exit).
So, I will try to take this brakes position just after beginning of stall. I think it's necessary to be very carefull during the return of pilot under the wing. In this brakes position, the wing would like probably return in fligth by herself due to instability of position and dynamic action of pendulum during the return of he pilot. It's probably necessary to brake down of few centimeter under "the position" during the return of the pilot . . . I will try ...
For realize tailslide without stall we have to enter in parachutal and brake more of few centimeter like describe in "tricks"
I 'll have to work and see . . .

You should get known to your glider. Do a few stalls with slow recovering and try to get a feeling where your brakes are when the glider is totally open (and only the wingtips are a bit collapsed ) but you still feel the backwardsmovement . Thats the brake level up to which you release later.

Than stall your glider, when it starts to fall behind you, release the brakes to the level you know now and than recover it again just as normal.

It's also not to bad to do some normal tailslides from trimspeed, to get a feeling for the brakes where you are really stable flying backwards.

Hello every body, I'm not really acro pilot. I just realized SAT, Wing , asym spiral and stall.
I would like to work more on stall and tail slide. Today I practicing stall by complete destruction of wing, stabilisation, slowly re-opening of complete span before exit like a good schoolboy. I would like to work on stall with not complete destruction of wing and so be directly in tailslide (and forget the instable phase of span destruction).
I'm tempt to release brake from stall position to middle position (position of brake corresping to 70% span re-openning in stable position) just after stall beginning but I think there is a risk of complete re-openning du to dynamic behaviour . .
What is the good way to do that .

thank you for your answers. i agree that it may be better to go on over water... anyway i can not imagine clear enough what might happen, so i am not keen to do more experiments over ground. but if i find some system in it this summer, i´ll let you know.

It is possible to spiral backwards. I've seen that in some SIV courses where a few pilots where twisted in fullstall. The spirals seemed very stable and fast :-P

It is stange... maybe it will accelerate into a turn, but i think it's not possible to spiral backward in a tailslide configuration... i think you will get a big collapse and/or cravates soon.
Try it over water... maybe you will find a new manuver :)
