Adrenalina - the last APWC of 2007!

The last event of this year's Aerobatics Paragliding World Cup has ended in Italy at Lago di Garda! The place is more like a windsurf and kitesurf paradise thanks to the very strong north wind in the morning which usually drops around midday and quickly changes to south with the same strenght. The top of Monte Baldo is at about 1900 meter and provides huge altitude for the acro pilots to perform their routine, so it is the only competition where it's possible to make 6 maneuvers in the program (which means the first 4 tricks can be high-coefficient maneuvers like Tumbling, Rythmic SAT, Infinity, etc.). The strong winds and the high altitude makes it really difficult to calculate the pilot's drift during the program, many pilots made bad placement and drifted to the other side of the raft, wherefrom it was very hard to fly back in headwind to reach the landing platform, so we could watch a lot of freestyle water landings :-)
Despite the strong conditions and foehn (on saturday we were soaring the north face of the mountain with 8-12 m2 speedfly wings) the weather stayed sunny and we could make 3 valid runs in solo and 2 in synchro.

Solo results:

1. Félix Rodriguez (261,01 pts)
2. Antoine Montant (260,95 pts)
3. Pál Takáts (248,32 pts)
4. Gábor Kézi (247,55 pts)
5. Alexandre Aimard (239,55 pts)
