Swedish Championships - Finished

Last weekend, the Swedish championships 2014 was held in Åre.
A flying place only allowing pilots with an acro glider doing three maneuvers program.

Making it better for beginners, but also more difficult as each pilot had to compose their program not only based on technical coefficients, but also altitude loss on each maneuver.
The Swedish Championships is an Open competition FAI cat2. Which allow pilots from any nation to participate. But only a Swedish pilot can become a Swedish champion.

It was a 3 days competition.

Friday started nicely, but had to be stopped with 4 pilots still on take-off when big dark thunderclouds came drifting in.
Pål Hammar Rognøy was in the lead in the provisional results. Second Lars Gjelten and Emil Selin on third.

Saturday had a weather forecast saying strong winds from lunch and later. So in a hurry the first 4 pilots from Run 1 had to fly, then Run 2 started immediately after.
Very effective pilots made completing both Run 1 and Run 2 possible.
Run 2 got the following top 3 pilots: 1 Pål Hammar Rognøy, 2 Emil Selin and 3 Lars Gjelten.

Sunday morning. Strong winds, but a forecast promising low winds in the evening. But the competition only had until 12:00 to start a Run, and after a new briefing 11:00 Run 3 was canceled.
That left us with the total score after Run 2. Too bad, because the difference in points between second and fourth place was so low anything could have happened with another run.
