On wednesday the weather was perfect for flying here in Annecy so the official training day of Acrofolies was really a training day for the competitiors. Many pilots just got their new gliders few weeks or days ago
Finally 27 solo pilots and 11 teams participating in the competition included Gábor and me in both categories.
Yesterday a solo and a synchro run was done with compulsory program (The maneuvres in solo: Wing-Over, Asymmetric SAT, Dynamic Full Stall and Tail Slide . The maneuvres in synchro: SAT, Dynamic Full Stall, Helicopter, Synchro Spiral). With great performance the swiss Hervé Cerutti won the run in front of Félix Rodriguez and Fabio Baretto. In synchro the Satisfaction team (Hernan Pittoco and Horacio Llorens) took the first position. Unfortunately Pittoco hurt his ankle while landing on the raft and he cannot continue the contest. Horacio keeps on competing in solo.
Today sunny and hot weather again, 3 successful runs were held with. First a solo and a synchro with restricted announced program. Not everybody was happy with this :) The judges gave 6 maneouvers wherefrom the competitors must choose 4 (In solo: Helicopter, MacTwist Asymmetric Spiral, Dynamic Full Stall, Tumbling, Helico to SAT. In synchro: Asymmetric Spiral, Mactwist, Helicopter, Helico to SAT, Synchro Spiral). Félix took the lead in the solo, second his brother Raul, than Renato Lopez with almost the same points.
SOL Tribal Acro Team won the second synchro run but overall the SAT Brothers (Rodriguez) are on the top, 3th is the Blues „apocalypse” team, 4th Soft Landing Acro Team (our team :))
There was another solo run (free, announced program) but there will be results only tomorrow. Raul and Félix impressed the public with the infinite tumbling – with the G-Force Félix performed a SAT to Infinite (a Rythmic SAT which result in an Infinite)
