On sunday the last stage of the Aerobatics World Cup Tour 2006 ended in Italy at Lago di Garda.
After Acrofolies, Vertigo-Voss and Acroaria competitions the 4th and the last event of the year was Adrenalina taking place in the beautiful town of Malcesine.
This time there was only solo category with 26 competitors. Flying from the Monte Baldo we arrived very high above the lake every time even with acro wings, so the organizers decided to make the tasks with 6 maneuvers. This year it was the only competition with 6 tricks. It means the first 4 maneuver can be Tumbling, Misty to Tumbling, Rythmic SAT or Infinity (for safety reasons if there are 5 maneuvers in the run, only the first 3 can be with high coefficient, if there are 4 in total, only the first 2, etc...). There were already 6 pilots taking part, who can make Infinity Tumbling. The 7th was Antoine Montant but just before the first task he decided to fly and have fun with his speed riding wing instead of competing. On the training day another french pilot Alexander Aimard (who made his first Tumblings just 3 mounths ago) impressed the pilots making 4-5 turns in Infnitiy, maybe he will be the next?
On the first day the task was cancelled due to the strong eastern wind, but finally we had perfect weather conditions on the weekend and 3 valid tasks were done with 1 compulsory and 2 free runs.

I don't know about any misty tumble video except in Never Ending Thermal. Maybe in few mounths there will be some more footages.

Hi Pal,congratulation for podium!!I see in your video, you have the brake line of your wing free, without pass trough the pulley(can see it well on your"infinity video" and in your "4turns tumbling video"..... i never see this solution....what is the advantage?

I think as slowly more and more pilots learn Infinity they also realise that there is still one maneuver what was done only by one pilot before, it's Misty to Tumbling (invented by Herminio Cordido). Hernan Pitocco already practiced it a little bit and tried to do it in his program on the competition, but mostly it wasn't successfull. It's definitely a very hard and dangerous maneuver (an easy way to fall into your wing) and it should have much higher coefficient than this year. Currently it's 1.8, the same as a simple Tumbling, so the pilots were not motivated at all to practice and do this risky maneuver on competitions. However I think Misty Flip directly to Infinity Tumbling is possible and coming soon...would be nice :-)
