Alex flew away...

Shocking news from Spain: the youngest of the three Rodriguez brothers, Alejandro Rodriguez Fernandez died after an accident close to his hometown Albacete in Spain.

According to his brother Raul, he was flying at their home site called Chinchilla, an only 70 meter high hill. Alex performed a Misty Flip which went wrong, he got twisted and lost the control over his wing close to the ground with no height and time to solve the situation or open his reserve parachute...Alejandro was taken by emergency helicopter to the general hospital in Albacete suffering from multiple injuries, but died later on Monday morning.

He started to fly with the age of 15, following the footsteps of his father Félix (the founder of one of the oldest paragliding schools in Spain) his brothers Raúl, Félix and his cousin Horacio. He was 26 years old.

I think everybody who ever met him just once, knows very well how friendly, open minded, kind and happy person we have lost...The whole competition scene is badly hit by this terrible news.

We are all sending you our deepest condolences, strong hugs and lots of strenght to all the family members and friends in these heavy moments.

Alex, hasta la vista entre las nubes amigo!
