Swiss Championship 2010 - washed away by the rain but to be continued in November!

Lucky Clowns team member and swiss champion Yves Berlowitz reports of this year's national competition:

The swiss championship 2010 took place at the beautiful lake of Lugano from the 13. to the 15. of August. Next to the swiss championship there was an open competition in solo and World Cup in synchro as well.

Unfortunately many pilots and teams didn't show up at the inscription because of the very bad weather forecast. From the 10 swiss teams which where registered only 4 were competing which made the swiss synchro category invalid (minimum 5 teams were needed to validate the event).

At the first day we could fly one solo and one synchro run. On saturday and sunday the bad weather forecast came true and no more runs where possible. There where several dry hours but the take off was mostly closed by clouds. In the night of saturday to sunday it was raining so hard, that the rails of the Mt.Generoso train where blocked with dirt and stones so that the train couldn't go up anymore. The organisers tried everything to get at least one more synchro run and organised even a helicopter to get the synchro teams to the take off. Unluckily the clouds came back to the take-off at the same time as the pilots...
