Acrobatixx 2012 World Cup, Zell am see - first day

Félix Rodriguez reports about the first day of the Paranoia Acrobatixx, the first World Cup event in 2012!

"The flying conditions here in Zell am See for this years first task of the APWC (Acrobatic Paragliding World Cup) couldn't have been better, most of the pilots arrived with 700 meters in the box. I am very happy for Xandi Meschuh who took leading position with winning this first APWC task, especially because he was so unlucky with weather conditions at a contest earlier this season - AcroJam - and missed the podium. Once again he showed us his incredible skills. The second place of the task was for François Ragolski (FRA), who really deserved that after all that flying Organya in hard conditions sometimes more then seven hours per day. Followed by Brazilian rising star Rafael Goberna.

The contest format for the 2012 APWC series has changed:
During the last months all the best acro pilots were wondering how this new way of a contest will finally work.
After this first task was flown, I think all pilots got the feeling what it is about - freestyle flying, the true spirit of acro.
We don't need to fill out any papers and announce tricks even before we go up to fly anymore. Now I arrive to the box and just follow my feeling during all the run, concerning the altitude.
Thanks to Claudio Cattaneo, Iris Vogt and all the other people who are involved working on this huge project.
I fell in love again flying acro contests, this brings us to into the future!

Ps. I'm currently on the 8th position, not far from the first but also the 20th position, the truth is the level is fu**n incredible good.
