AcrOludeniz World Cup day 3.: Pál Takáts wins first run

Words from acroparaglidingevents . com:

After 2 days of raining and changeable weather the sun is back in Oludeniz :-). Today we started the day with shuttle the pilots up to the take off at 8:00 am. At the beginning of the day the wind at take off was very strong so there was no possibility to fly. So another parawaiting for one hour and then it was time to start the competition.

AcrOludeniz World Cup day 2.: the first task has been cancelled

Yesterday evening we had another briefing to fill out the maneuver sheets for the first tasks. The judges decided to start the competition with a restricted announced program where it was only possible to choose maneuvers not higher than 1.8 coefficient (until Tumbling, Misty to Helico and Mactwist to Helico).

AcrOludeniz World Cup day 1.: interviews, registration and general briefing. No task today.

The weather here in Ölüdeniz had been pretty bad recently, it rained almost non-stop since yesterday afternoon till today morning. After the material check and the general briefing the sky was still very cloudy but some tandems flew down and the 5 pilots who need to fly the safety selection were sent up to Babadag mountain. Unfortunately they were not able to launch later on. A few others made a small show during the opening ceremony flying down from the low take-off site at 900 meters (which is normally prohibited and not in use anyway).

Acrobatics Paragliding World Cup Season 2011

Only 4 days left until the APWC series hits in with an early-season starter in Turkey, at the well known sunny acro spot Ölüdeniz. Thanks to the big altitude available over the sea the pilots are going to perform 6 maneuvers each run. Regarding the new World Cup rules it is only allowed to perform a certain maneuver only once to the right and once to the left side (see rule changes below). Repetition isn't possible until the final run of the comp where the pilots then can choose their free program again from all tricks.

The Wing Load Research: currently on break

Sorry guys, but due to a crack in my chest bone (caused by a brutal hard parachute opening while sky-diving 2 weeks ago) I had to stop flying for a while and with this Wing Load Research is also on pause right now...
I'll be able to continue the experimentations in June...Thanks for your understanding!
