seems like I had seen video of a system presented at 2019 coup de icare that used compressed air to eject a reserve with great force/speed.
I wonder if there could be a way for SIV instructors to rig one of their students reserves (hopefully they have their main, plus a front mount during instruction) with this system on a radio remote trigger, thereby giving the instructor or someone on the ground the option to attempt to throw the student's reserve as well.
