Do you just want to climb for acro or are you also looking for good glide? What is your weight and experience?
Regarding gliding; I do not know about the new Octane, but the original Octane FLX is not particularly well known for good glide :> Also the serious acro gliders have quite different gliding abilities. The Niviuk N-Gravity for instance glides comparably well, while Thriller/Emilie/Nikita3 do not really fly. On the other hand the N-Gravity is probably not the easiest acro glider and is only available in rather small sizes. The same is probably true about the Trickster.
I would say that any 17 or even 16sqm with Chrigel Maurer as a pilot is way better compromise than any acro glider with any acro pilot ;-)
And more seriously, any freestyle glider in 22sqm should do the job. An acro glider in 22sqm will have less flying properties but will be nicer for acro, then it is your choice.

Does anyone has operating experience in matter of wingmodel and size?
