AcroAustria - World Cup in acro paradise

After 8 years of competing and being a professional pilot, Alexander "Xandi" Meschuh - seeing the dying down competition scene last year - decided to organize an event at his lovely home site, the Gerlitzen. From his own experiences Xandi knew very well what the pilots need to be happy, satisfied and to be able to enjoy a competition:

Sonchaux Acro Show

After many successful editions of the RedBull Vertigo, then Vertigo Swiss Riviera, the city of Villeneuve at the lake of Geneva now hosted the Sonchaux Acro Show for the second time (Sonchaux is the name of the mountain where the pilots fly from).
The event is all about the show, but also a new kind of acro competition with 12 of the best pilots in the World and 4 wild cards for swiss pilots. The concept is simple: 2 pilots fly out at the same time for a "battle". The winner continues and the looser is out of the competition...

Horacio Llorens is Spanish Acro champion 2010

An article by Ojovolador.com, reported by Horacio Llorenz.

The second edition of the Revoluttion event was held last weekend (August 6-8) with the participation of about thirty pilots, some foreigners, who flew three tasks in the solo category and two in synchro in perfect conditions over the lake of La Pobla de Segur. Horacio Llorens (RR Radix) took the top place overall, ahead of team mate Raul Rodriguez (RR Radix) and the Argentinean Hernan Pitocco (Sol Supersonic). Horacio reports from the competition.

Double hungarian success at the first World Cup

Grillmayer Alexandra in female and Pál Takáts in the overall category have won Paranoia Acrobatixxx, the first of the - only - two World Cup events of the season, held in Zell am See, Austria for the fifth time! As usual the altitude in the flying box was pretty low, between 3-400 meters so the pilots were performing 3 maneuvers only. It means that everything has to run perfectly, otherwise even a small mistake makes out big differences in the scoring. Regarding the new rules now the landing takes 20% of the total scoring (it is the double than it used to be) and the ground spiral coefficient jumped up from 3 to 4 which makes the landings a lot more exciting since everybody is giving a try for the spiral-raft landings to get out maximal points.
