Show me your break line setup for ACRO.

Hey everyone,
I watch a lot of acro videos and see that a number of guys have like a T bar on there break line doing acro. So do you have that setup and whats the advantage? I am thinking of doing that my self and want to know what people have made them out of?

Any photos would be a great help!

Thanks MadMickeyMouse! Some great info. For now I am flying with the ones I have but I have noticed a few of the top guys using the Pro-Design sensor ones.

Now if only the summer would pump a bit more height I can play some more!

Hi Raven,

You might consider the ones from Pro Design, I haven't touched them myself, only seen them in magazines and on the web.

Myself I use the handles that are on kayaks on the front and back to lift and carry them. They fit inside the hand, they are lightweight, and if you get them inside the lines, they come easier off than a broom-stick.

Don't mind the messy helico-try, but you can see my setup on one of my vids

On another glider i have this crap from Firebird, they are BIG, HEAVY, and of metal, so you'll freeze your fingers off in the winter. They are almost so heavy that if you fly hands-off you fly with trim ;) If they hit your helmet you get some nice marks as well. Then the broom-stick is better

Good luck on your quest for the golden-handle ;)

I created a pdf which is showing how I modified my brake.
I will sent it to Pal that he can upload it and link to this discussion.

Well had one fly in the Skywalk ones so far they are good. Will take a little getting used too but I like them a lot. Raven

Thanks Pal, I will see how the skywalk ones go, but think wood sounds like a good idea. Can you post a photo of yours so I can see how you made yours? That would be great! Raven

The best if you just take a piece of wood and make a hole on it by yourself. I don't like metal for this wood is much more skin friendly and lighter.
Those Skywalk things looks not too good to me, but you can try it..

I do all the maneuvers with the bar, but during normal flying I use the brake handles. In some conditions, like really turbulent air, the T-bar is also great to keep the wing open :-)

Ok I have ordered a set of the Skywalk T handles to see how they are to fly with.

Anyone else have any info? had a look at the skywalk stuff but they only show a small 2 finger system.

The advantage would be, that with the T- bar your hand is in the right position (vertical) for the maximum force load if needed in different tricks.... My opinion...
But, I don't feel so comfortable with this hand position. I feel like I don't have such a smooth control in thermals if I use this way the brakes.
Any other opinions?
