Official Statement by the Aerobatic Subcommittee concerning the 2013 APWC final overall rankings

During its first 2 years of existence, the new “Evolution” competition format continuosly needed to be adapted and improved. Due to the lack of other occasions, this tuning was done during the APWC competition season. This was necessary in order to be prepared for a possible jump in quality of acro paragliding competitions in the near future.

The majority of the changes were suggested and requested by pilots. All changes have been discussed and implemented after agreement between the judges and the pilots' committee.

The AcroJam Paragliding World Cup in Obertraun was a great success

The weather was excellent for the Acro Paragliding World Cup competition and the small Dachstein village of Obertraun became a mecca for the world's finest Acro Pilots.

Altogether 40 competitors from 12 different nations took off from the Krippenstein mountain to perform three competitive flights for Solo and Synchro paragliding. The standard of competition was higher than ever before. Thanks to the excellent weather, all of the AcroJam events were able to take place according to the schedule.

Acrolake Swiss Championships

Last weekend the swiss championships and a synchro APWC took place for the second time in Brienz, Switzerland. After two rainy days the competition started with rested and dry pilots on saturday with two solo and a synchro task in between. On sunday the finals in both categories took place. Thus Jeremy Peclard is the new swiss champion and Spälti Acro Team with Adrian Hachen & Michael Maurer won the synchro competition.

2nd Monumental Acro Series

During the paragliding festival el Yelmo in Spain, the 2nd Monumental Acro Series by Dani Martinez took place at the Castello de Segura. Among the invited pilots were Raúl Rodriguez (ESP), Horacio LLorens (ESP), Anthony Green (US), Tim Alongi (FRA), Lino Oehl (GER), Marvin Ogger (GER), Renan and Juan-Luis Morales and Malaguita Tejeiro (ESP).
Each pilot had a 7 minutes play time, launching from the castle's highest tower. Points from 5-15 were given for all kind of touches and landings as well for creativity and acro skills...

Horacio Llorens won the world cup once again!!

This week end happened to be the final event of the 2012 world cup season, AcroWing tour in Annecy, this event was synchro/solo APWC and the french championships Synchro and solo in the meantime.

The first 2 days we had terrrible weather with rain and wind all day long, and so we could only let 5 pilots of the french championship fly
On friday the rain stopped but the wind was quite strong we had to wait until 1pm to see the wind stop and to run the 1st solo task of this Acro Wing tour, the 44 pilots were able to fly this task.

Eliot Nochez wins the Battle!

Eliot Nochez (FRA) won his battle against Horacio Llorens (SPA) yesterday in Villeneuve and so he is the winner of the Sonchaux Acro Show 2012! Horacio took the 2nd place while Adrian Hachen (CHE) took the 3rd after winning his battle against François Ragolski (FRA)
