The smooth Nikita II 19,5m2

These are my first flights with the Nikita II 19. Before I was flying the Nikita II 17.
My take off weight is 99 kg, and the wing feels very soft, but with a lot of power when you need it.

Other camera-perspectives will come in future.....

Happy Christmas !

Hi !

For me there are a lot of reasons to fly a bigger glider. More altitude during flying into the box, you make more manouvers in the same hight, it is more controllable because it is a bit more slow. the flow looks nicer. Wingovers look like real wingovers......
I can climb better in thermals....
But the wing must be able to do all acro manouvers with a lower wingloading too. I have flown the 21m2 nikita II with 95kg take off weight. I was able to make a nice rhytmic to infinte, and nice helicos, but it seemd fucking slow to me because i was used to the 17.
so i decidet to make a 19, and it is the best compromise. For shure i will also compete with this size next season.

Happy landings !

Hi Xandi,

Nice video!

What are your reasons for going up in size to the 19.5m2 from the 17m2 glider? Is there a trend where gliders have been designed very small to make the infinity possible and now they are redefining them and understanding the trimming and then therefore able to increase the size to make the glider more versatile for lighter conditions etc (climb) and more stable in helico...? Or will you fly both sizes but use them according to the flying site you are at?

(Sorry for long sentences, getting late....)

Hi Xandi,

I don't need any more teasing, my Nikita II - Yellow-Mickey is already ordered ;) I'll treat her nice, getting to know what she likes and not, if she likes things soft or hard before we really start to play together :D

Merry christmas and a happy fantastic new flying year. I know what I will get from Santa Claus this time ;)
