Advantages:
Safer takeoff.
Excellent thermalling.
Possibility of Acro " catapult - style " drop.
Safer emergency landing.
Disadvantages:
Pilot does not see much when pulling the nails :(
Pilot should mind his head if the tandem harness has a seatplate. Tandempilot, please careful with your passenger...
